PHP strlen() function

This function is used to get the length of a given string.

Syntax

strlen(string);

The string is the required parameter. It returns length of string on success, otherwise it returns 0.

    $str = 'welcome to etutorialspoint';
    $str_length = strlen($str);
    echo $str_length;
?>		

Output :

26

Example2

<?php
    $str = 'Hello John!, How are you?';
    $str_length = strlen($str);
    echo $str_length;
?>		

Output :

25
