English Grammar – Past Continuous Tense
The past continuous tense is often used to describe the continuation of a business in past time.
Rules of Past Continuous Tense
‘was’ is used with singular subject and ‘were’ is used with plural subject and ‘you’.Subject + was/were + V-ing

राम ने एक नई पोशाक पहन रखी थी। | Ram was wearing a new dress. |
गीता एक कतार में खड़ी थी। | Gite was standing in a queue. |
बारिश हो रही थी। | It was raining. |
हम मैदान में खेल रहे थे। | We were playing in the field. |
मैं उससे तब मिला जब वह पुल पार कर रहा था। | I met him when he was crossing the bridge. |
जब मैं खाना बना रही थी तो वह आई थी। | She came in while I was cooking. |
